FIRST - Read the league RULES

1) REGISTRATION: To participate, complete the pilot registration form in either .doc or .pdf format. Email the registration form at least 48 hours in advance of your first meet attendance in order for it to be added to the Pilot ID page and scoring software database.

2) WAIVER: All pilots must complete the waiver form. This form must be signed and HAND DELIVERED to the meet director on site before you can participate in any of the planned meets. You have to fill out a new waiver annually.

3) WAYPOINT FILES: The two file formats (.wpt and .mps) available for download below are identical in content. Determine which format is most compatible with the application you'll be using, and save that file to your hard drive. If you have a Mac or simply prefer to download to your GPS using a different application, I've included a couple different waypoint formats. If you're using a Mac and don't already have an application to be able to upload/download waypoints and tracklogs, try using GPS Dump (available below) or GPSBabel.

Santa Barbara and Marshall - .wpt / .mps

Soboba. - .wpt / .mps

San Diego - .wpt / .mps

Kagel - .wpt / .mps

*If you're able, please upload waypoints to your GPS unit before attending the meet. Doing this ahead of time will save time for the meet director. If you need instructions on how to upload waypoints to your GPS, read the tutorials that are available on this page. If you are not able to upload waypoints to your GPS yourself, they can be uploaded at the meet prior to the pilot briefing. Please bring your own GPS cable just in case the one required for your GPS unit is not available. Currently, the GPS cables available on site are the Garmin 76 series (incl. USB), and Flytec/Brauniger 5030, 60xx series.

4) TRACK LOGS: If you are in a hurry and cannot stick around after your flight to have your tracklog downloaded by the scorekeeper, you must download and submit your tracklog by midnight on Tuesday following the weekend league event. Why Tuesday - you ask? The pilots that flew in the weekend event will want to see thier results a.s.a.p., but the event can't be scored until all the tracklogs have been submitted. If you don't want to submit your tracklog you don't have too, but if your tracklog is submitted after the deadline most likely it will not be scored. GPSDump is the recommended software to use for downloading your tracklog to your computer. There are tutorials available below to help you do this. Tracklogs must be saved in .kml format and submitted by email to the meet director.

5) GPSDump: Waypoints need to be uploaded to your GPS, and tracklogs need to be downloaded. GPSDump is highly recommended for this process because of its ease of use. You can download the latest version of GPSDump (for PC and MAC) from their WEBSITE. Once at the site click on the GPSDump link (second link from the top of the links on the left side) and save the application to your hard drive. If you prefer, you can download it here as well.

Two tutorials are available for using GPSDump to upload waypoints and for downloading tracklogs. Both should make using the GPSDump application very easy. The tutorials were written based on an earlier version of the application but the difference to newer vesions is very subtle.

IMPORTANT - Whether you use GPSDump or a different application for downloading your tracks, PLEASE use the format example below for naming your .kml files before sending it to the meet director. Using this format will save time when trying to locate it - THANK YOU.
